Maximising reuse.

  • According to the regional ROMULUS area, the founding members (Upcyclea, its local partner and the regional partners) are sponsoring the initiative and the intent is to bring together the key contractors, clients, architects and consultants working in both the region (a country or a city) to share building data and encourage circular economy.
  • The initiative is a public / private collaboration to encourage a viable market for reuse and circular economy.
  • The platform's AI will then be used to connect stakeholders and make them offers for reuse.
  • The regional Founding Members will oversee the initiative to learn more about how circular economy processes work and identify how these can be supported with policy and guidance, as well as how to implement this for their own projects.

Creating regenerative ecosystems.

  • ROMULUS is based on the UPCYCLEA platform, whose AI-based functions will help connect supply and demand for reuse, to decarbonise the building sector.
  • The algorithms suggest resource regeneration ecosystems, whose positive impacts will be calculated and available in the ESG dashboard. ​
  • The ROMULUS's Resource Management team will use the Upcyclea platform's functions to create, manage and trace reuse ecosystems, calculate outflow indicators, and help industrialising Circular Economy.

  • Participants will be encouraged to work together, drawing on their expertise to help address existing challenges to the creation of a viable market. They are organised in circles.

Circle of Founding Members

  • The founding members will oversee the global initiative and provide the digital platform and processes needed to enable the reuse projects.

Circle of Associate Members

  • Associate members will access the urban mine to import their used deposits, declare their needs and be offered reuse ecosystems by the ROMULUS Resource Manager.​

Circle of Academic Members

  • The academic members will contribute their theoretical expertise and research findings to feed the processes.

Circle of Standards Bodies

  • The standardisation bodies will provide the necessary references for the processes and calculations used in ROMULUS.
