Certification requires a tracking system to ensure compliance with the certification and any product changes that may impact it. Are you ready to implement it?

Are you ISO 14001 certified?

If not, are you ready to put in place an environmental risk assessment system for the manufacturing of your product, as well as an environmental policy to address the identified risks?

Healthy materials:

Do you have all the "Safety Data Sheets" (SDS) of your products ?

Do the SDSs list 100% of the composition of each substance (i.e. the list of chemical substances, described by their CAS number*) with a concentration exceeding 100ppm?

*The CAS number of a chemical, polymer, biological sequence or alloy is its unique registration number in the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) database. See the explanatory note

If not, do you think you are able to obtain the complete compositions (all substances above 100ppm) from your suppliers?

Are you able to provide proof of compliance of your plants in terms of discharges (water, sludge) over the last two years according to international standards?

The substances listed in the Restricted Substance List (RSL) are banned or restricted by C2C certification. Are you ready to have all your suppliers sign the "Supplier Restricted Substances Declaration" which commits them to respect this list?

Does your product contain post-consumer recycled materials?

If so, are you willing to perform laboratory analysis to determine compliance with the Restricted Substance List (RSL) and the presence of other specific substances?

Does your product contain geological materials (stone, limestone, gypsum, ...) or wood species without a CAS number?

If so, are you willing to perform laboratory analysis to determine compliance with the Restricted Substance List (RSL) and the presence of other specific substances?

C2C certification is based on the percentage by weight that each substance or material represents in the final product, for each variation or different product in the range to be certified. Do you have this information?

Reuse of materials:

C2C certification requires that you define one or more recovery scenarios for each material or substance in your product (including mandatory recycling for all non-biological materials). Do you have this information?

Are you involved in research, reflection or working groups whose aim is to increase the proportion of secondary raw materials used in your products and/or improve the recovery (recycling) of your products?

C2C certification defines minimum thresholds of recycled or rapidly renewable* material that must be incorporated into products according to their type(See the notice). Do you meet the minimum thresholds for incorporating recycled or rapidly renewable content imposed by the Standard to achieve the Bronze level?

*rapidly renewable: material derived from a natural resource (agricultural or animal source) with a regeneration cycle of no more than 10 years (exception for wood: is considered rapidly renewable if it is FSC certified)

C2C certification requires that your product is designed in such a way that at least 50% of the materials/components can be effectively recycled (e.g. effective disassembly). Do you have this information?

Renewable Energy & Carbon Management:

Are you able to provide evidence of compliance of your plants with air emissions for the last two years according to the regulations in force?

Do you have a follow-up (via invoices, meter readings, ...) of the consumption of electricity, gas and any other source of energy used for your different activities in the manufacture of your product on your final production sites (manufacturing, transport, lifting, ...)?

Are you willing to buy electricity from renewable sources at least 5% above the conventional energy mix?

Are you willing to pay certified organizations to offset a minimum of 5% of the carbon emissions of your production sites?

Water Management:

Have you already carried out studies on local and regional water issues (risk of drought, eutrophication, water quality, etc.) and soil issues for all your plant sites?

If not, do you think you are able to obtain this information and substantiate it with independent sources?

Do you have a follow-up (invoices, pumping follow-up, ...) of the water consumption of your different activities?

Are you able to describe the water circuit on your production sites (e.g. diagrams)?

Are you ready to collect the "Supplier Restricted Substances Declaration" from your suppliers of products (catalysts, ...) used in the manufacturing process of your products?

Social responsibility:

C2C certification requires an analysis of the human rights risks* on your production sites. Are you able to perform such an analysis ?

C2C certification requires a policy aimed at committing the entire company to respecting human rights*, and the implementation of monitoring indicators. Are you willing to implement these indicators or do you have access to these documents?

*discrimination, harassment and abuse, forced or compulsory labor, health and safety, provision of the legal minimum wage, anti-corruption

C2C certification requires a corporate culture in which employees, suppliers and business partners work in synergy. Do you already have such a policy in place or are you willing to do so?
